As someone with a mental illness history, I would say that sometimes support networks aren't there. But for me i left it too late to confide in friends and family. Too much stigma attached.
I still struggle to open up to friends and it took a total stranger to help me.

Find support where and when you can.

Being lonely at Xmas is horrible.

I was on my own two years running due to circumstance and I was so miserable. Can easily see how it might tip people over the edge. Problem is support services are getting less not more. God bless anyone who needs help.

Someone i know tried to take her own life because she was lonely. none of us knew - or rather none of us realised.

It only takes a minute to send someone a message to see if they are ok. We all need to look after each other better.
